JOIN THE GLOBAL CELEBRATION OF MUSEUMS

AND

VISIT A MUSEUM DURING THE MONTH OF MAY!

The worldwide community of museums will celebrate International Museum Day on or around May 18, 2013. This year's theme is: Museums (memory + creativity) = social change. The International Council of Museums (ICOM) established International Museum Day in 1977 to increase public awareness of the role of museums in the development of society. Join the celebration! Visit a museum during the month of May! The following CAMA institutional members have announced special programs for May 18:

• The Arizona Military Museum
  The Arizona Military Museum is an official partner with the Department of Defense project “The 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War.” The Museum will celebrate International Museum Day by making the public aware of the sacrifices and accomplishments of those who served in the Vietnam War. Open Saturday, May 18 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Free admission.
• Arizona Museum for Youth (AMY)
  Arizona Museum for Youth (AMY) is open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on International Museum Day, May 18. On that day only, all visitors will enjoy 2-for-1 admission. This offer cannot be combined with other discounts and does not apply towards group/tour packages.
• Desert Caballeros Western Museum
  Desert Caballeros Western Museum in Wickenburg offers free admission on May 18 in honor of International Museum Day. The exhibition “Desertscapes: Narrative Landscape Photographs by Wayne Norton,” a Wickenburg Sesquicentennial event, opens on May 17.
• Pueblo Grande Museum
  Pueblo Grande Museum celebrates International Museum Day from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 18, by offering free admission all day, free gallery tours, and artifact show-and-tell stations. Also, enjoy all-you-can-make arts and crafts in the classroom for $5.00! Come out and explore an ancient Hohokam site in the heart of Phoenix!
