Museum Description
From horse soldiers to resort developments-- the desert foothills have been a spectacle of historic and prehistoric dimensions. Set in the shadow of looming Black Mountain, the Museum offers a view to the past. Thousands of years ago, Hohokam farmers dug 2,000 miles of irrigation canals to water their crops. Tools, pottery, jewelry, and other artifacts in the Museum collection give insight into these productive, innovative people.
