Museum description

The Peoria Arizona Historical Society operates the Peoria Agricultural Museum, the Peoria Central School Museum, the new Business and Government Museum, and (at another site) the Peoria Jail House Museum.

The Peoria Central School Museum is housed in a double classroom school building built in 1906. The South classroom features vignettes of early Peoria families and life styles.

The Peoria Agricultural Museum, built circa 1910, contains displays of cotton farming and ginning, a blacksmith shop, dairy farming, and sheep herding in the early days of Peoria. Restoration of this building was accomplished with financial support of the Salt River Project, the City of Peoria and Charley Gyder and Wilhelm Garage.
